Work begins in September on the site of the former Notre Dame school in Everton, continuing the development of North Liverpool taking place across Anfield and Great Homer Street as part of Project Jennifer. TAC won planning permission for the site in February, and have now signed a deal with Liverpool Mutual Homes to develop the site on their behalf.
The project includes 76 new homes, with a mixture of houses, flats and bungalows, and three-storey town houses lining the road along Everton Valley. Homes on the site will be available for both affordable rent and shared ownership.
The scheme marks our first collaboration with Liverpool Mutual Homes, and is part of their commitment to providing 1,200 new homes by 2018.
LMH chief executive Steve Coffey:
‘The site is well-placed strategically on a main thoroughfare to and from the city centre, on the edge of major regeneration projects at Anfield and Great Homer Street. It will contribute significantly to the continuing regeneration of this part of North Liverpool.’
Notre Dame Catholic High school moved to a new state-of-the-art building next to Everton Park sports centre in September 2013. The Great Homer Street site is part of the £150m Project Jennifer scheme.
